What we check
Every element an inspector looks for
We check your declaration against the EU legislation that applies to your product and against the content required by Annex III of Decision No 768/2008/EC, the model declaration that EU product legislation is based on.
Manufacturer identification
Name and full postal address of the manufacturer and, where applicable, the authorised representative.
Product identification
Product name, type or model, and batch or serial number, specific enough to trace the declaration to the product you actually sell.
Sole responsibility statement
The statement that the declaration is issued under the sole responsibility of the manufacturer.
Applicable EU legislation
The right directives and regulations, correctly cited, and none that do not apply (for example LVD and EMC listed for a Bluetooth product that falls under RED).
Harmonised standards and versions
Standards that belong to the cited legislation, quoted with their year and amendments, and not withdrawn or superseded.
Notified body
Name, four-digit number and certificate reference, where the conformity assessment procedure for your product requires one.
Signature, place and date
Place and date of issue, name and function of the person signing, and a signature on behalf of the manufacturer.
Language
Whether the declaration is in a language accepted in the EU countries where you sell.
EU economic operator
Whether an importer, authorised representative or responsible person established in the EU is identified, as required for most products sold by non-EU companies.
Related obligations
A checklist of what the declaration alone does not cover: CE marking, WEEE and battery registration, packaging (PPWR) and EPREL where they apply.
Common problems
Why Declarations of Conformity get rejected
These are the gaps we see most often in declarations from non-EU manufacturers. Any one of them can be enough for customs, a marketplace compliance team or a market surveillance authority to stop a product.
- A lab test report or a "CE certificate" is submitted instead of a Declaration of Conformity signed by the manufacturer.
- No importer, authorised representative or responsible person established in the EU is named anywhere.
- The wrong legislation is cited, typically LVD and EMC for a product with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, which falls under the Radio Equipment Directive instead.
- Harmonised standards are listed without their year, or in versions that have since been withdrawn.
- The sole responsibility statement, the signature, or the place and date of issue is missing.
- The model number on the declaration does not match the product, its label or the marketplace listing.
- Template text is left in: placeholders, another company's name, or a product from a different declaration.

Don't have anyone established in the EU?
Most products sold in the EU need an importer, authorised representative or responsible person established in the Union. We check for this and flag it if it's missing — one of the most common gaps for non-EU suppliers.

If no EU harmonisation legislation applies to your product, that doesn't mean you have no obligations. Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR), in force since December 2024, still requires a responsible person established in the EU, a risk assessment, and manufacturer's documentation. We check these products too — instead of an EU Declaration of Conformity, we prepare a risk assessment and documentation under GPSR.

Our team carries out the check. Every result is reviewed and approved by Ing. Jaroslav Křepelka, who has worked in product certification for over fifteen years, before it is sent.
How much does it cost?

€99 per declaration (one product), excluding VAT. VAT or reverse charge is calculated at checkout depending on your country and VAT ID. A re-check after you fix the findings costs from €39, and the 24-hour express option adds 50%.
How long does the check take?

We usually deliver the report within 48 hours of payment, or within 24 hours with the express option.
What documents should I upload?

Your product's existing EU Declaration of Conformity (PDF, DOCX or a photo), and test reports against harmonised standards if you have them.
Amazon or another marketplace asked for my Declaration of Conformity. Can you help?

Yes. We check your declaration against EU law, which is what marketplace compliance teams and customs look at, and tell you exactly what to correct before you resubmit it. We can't guarantee a marketplace's decision, but we make sure the document itself holds up.
My company is outside the EU (China, Turkey, India, USA…). Can you still check my declaration?

Yes. The check covers the same requirements wherever the product is made. Note that most products sold by non-EU companies also need an importer, authorised representative or responsible person established in the EU; we flag it if one is missing and can take on that role for you.
What if the report finds a problem?

Every finding explains what's wrong and how to fix it. Once you've corrected the declaration, you can order a re-check. For serious gaps, we recommend a consultation with our expert.
Is the report legally binding?

The report is an expert opinion and does not replace product testing or a conformity assessment by a notified body — see our disclaimer for details.
Do you check the Packaging Regulation (PPWR) too?

Yes. Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste (PPWR) replaces the older Directive 94/62/EC, with its main obligations becoming binding from August 2026. The questionnaire asks about packaging and we include it in the report.
What if my product doesn't need CE marking at all?

Then it falls under the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR), in force since December 2024. Instead of an EU Declaration of Conformity, we can prepare a risk assessment and manufacturer's documentation under GPSR.
